What is SDS2?
SDS2 is a 3D structural steel detailing software package that incorporates the ability to automate connection design during the modelling process using pre-determined loads.
When members are put into the model they interact with each other and connections are designed per UK Eurocodes.
Changes can be implemented within the member edit box and the software can be setup to provide standard connections per Engineer's / Site installers preference.
How does it compare to other leading software?
As with other detailing software, the end product is the same, however each software package is different.
With SDS2, we are able to model quickly making use of the automated connection design. Not only that, connection calculations for the connections SDS2 designs can be exported for the Engineer to review, via connection cubes or exported directly from the model.
How can SDS2 help in the Fabrication Shop?
We can setup SDS2 using shop standards and detailing preferences of the Fabricator.
This in turn makes the detailing process more efficient and accurate, reducing Shop questions and human error in the detailing process .
Can SDS2 collaborate with other software?
Absolutely, the software can work collaboratively with Tekla Powerfab, StruMIS, Advanced Steel, AutoCAD, and Revit.
Can SDS2 export all files the Fabrication shop needs?
Yes, SDS2 exports all the required files the Fabrication Shop needs such as NC, DXF, Assembly Drawings, GA Drawings, Sub-material Drawings and IFC Files.
